As an SSPC-QP3 certified shop, Inter-City Contracting employees are trained to have a complete understanding of surface preparation standards. AESS: Architecturally Exposed Structural Steel
We specialize in the attention to detail that is required to handle, prepare and apply high performance coatings in accordance with AESS specifications and produce results to satisfy the most discerning customer. We have extensive experience with all categories of AESS work with a variety of customers including Havard, University of Connecticut, MIT, Assumption College, Pratt Whitney, Amherst College, and MassPort to name a few.
Plural Component Tank Lining
Plural component applied coatings are utilized to meet the demand of the toughest marine, chemical, and potable water immersion environments. These coatings are used because they have unique characteristics that conventional coatings sometimes may not provide, including exceptional flexibility, rapid cure time, and resistance to impact, abrasion, and corrosion, and hostile environmental conditions. Plural component systems are also environmentally friendly with 100% solids material and no solvents (VOC’s).

Our specialty abrasive blasting process will leave you with bare clean steel ready to paint, or we can continue with application of a rust-inhibitive primer and finish with a high performance polyurethane that will make it look new.
Truck & Heavy Equipment Restoration
At Inter-City Contracting we can abrasive blast, prime and finish paint your commercial trucks, trailers and heavy equipment for excellent performance and maximum corrosion protection of your valuable assets, or for the ultimate protection on chassis or frames we can apply a zinc rich primer base coat (equivalent to spray-on galvanizing) beneath our standard epoxy/polyurethane system for exceptional rust resistance.
