We treat small and large projects with the same level of attention and professionalism to produce the same high-quality results our customers require and expect.
As an SSPC-QP3 certified shop we maintain credentials and approvals from Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut departments of transportation. Our focus is on the application of the technically sophisticated coatings required in the industrial, bridge, and OEM markets.
A Shop finished system delivers a higher quality end product than can normally be produced in the field due to the ease of access to the item being coated and the controlled conditions of a painting shop.
We are well versed in the application of zinc-rich primers, epoxies, polyurethanes, poly-siloxanes and other high-performance coatings to mild steel, galvanized steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. We can blast and prime for you or we can apply a complete, finished system.

Thermal Spray/Metallizing
The process of applying molten liquid metal zinc, aluminum, and other alloys and composites to steel and iron, it is used extensively in the corrosion protection industry to extend the lifespan of components in a variety of conditions and environments.
Duplex Coatings
Formed by painting or powder coating over hot-dip galvanized or thermal spray coated steel, this process provides superior corrosion protection and long lifespans in infrastructure applications. Common examples in the marketplace are ColorGalv® or COLORZINQ®.
Ambient Cured Fluoropolymer Coatings
An alternative to baked on fluoropolymer finishes like Kynar, Duranar or Fluoropon, these products deliver the level of performance required to meet the demanding AMMA 2605 certification for ultradurable materials. They can withstand a minimum of 10 years of exposure in a South Florida environment with no visible effect—all without the need for baking—and are available in virtually any color in solid or metallic sheens.
Insulative Coatings
Specialized acrylic coatings that insulate any object they are applied to, insulative coatings can stop conduction of cold/heat into a building, stop condensation or disarm the burn hazard of hot process piping or vessels. When used to insulate process piping or tanks, they virtually eliminate the corrosion that forms under conventional insulation.
Intumescent Fireproofing
These spray-applied acrylic or epoxy coatings swell when exposed to fire. Inter-City applies the coating in our shop to meet 1, 2 or even 3 hour ratings dependent on size and configuration of the steel; when the finished components are delivered for erection on-site, a field contractor need only apply fireproofing to the bolt up areas.
High-Temperature & Cryogenic Coatings
These coatings can be applied to piping or vessels to protect the substrate from the corrosion that forms rapidly in extreme environments. Rated for temperature exposures as low as -321˚F to as high as 1200˚F.
